Alan Harris/My Adoption Story (Part II): Flying Halfway Across the World to Meet My Birth Mother—A Journey of Both Healing and Hardship

I had so many questions to ask: Why was I placed for adoption? What was I like as a child? Do I have any siblings? When I boarded that transfer flight to Taiwan alone, I experienced a new feeling I hadn't felt—belonging. Seeing my birth mom again after 15 years and having a meal with my grandparents—I can only say it was the beginning of true healing.
